MBIBIS

 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation (MBIBIS) of the Republic of Suriname.

This Ministry of Foreign affairs of the Republic of Suriname  was renamed into The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation (MBIBIS) following the general elections in May 2020. H.E.  Minister Albert Ramdin  is assigned with the portfolio for this  Ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International cooperation is committed to making Suriname a better country. It does this by establishing or maintaining relationships with the various countries and organizations in the world. The Surinamese diaspora are also involved in the efforts for a better Suriname. The Ministry is not only committed to Surinamese at home, but with its services, also for those abroad.

The ministry’s policy focuses on the following areas:

  • Bilateral relations
  • Multilateral Relations
  • Migration and People Traffic
  • Surinamese diaspora
  • Development Cooperation and International Trade
  • Development diplomacy
  • National High Level Dialogue

MISSION

  • Representing the interests of the Republic of Suriname and its subjects abroad.
  • Contributing to the promotion of world peace and sustainable development at the global level.
  • Making a contribution to the transformation of Surinamese society into a modern society.
  • Promoting the contribution of Surinamese in the diaspora to national development.
  • Promoting development-oriented diplomacy, including Presidential diplomacy and economic diplomacy.
